FiGZ.COM runs on a computer that really isn't impressive. It is just a 233mhz Pentium Pro I believe (I bet a lot of people forgot about the Pentium Pro line, heh). It has 64mb of RAM and two harddrives, one a 4 gig scsi used for the main system, and the secdond a 13 gig IDE drive that we use for this and that. For the display that really doesn't get used (we do remote administration) there is a 1mb video card and a monochrome monitor.

On the software side we run Debian GNU/Linux, which we all love. The web server, like most UNIX systems (and a lot of Windows servers even :), is Apache. We also use PHP to do all the nifty dynamic stuff on the page (like comments, random slogans, etc), which is really cool and fun to make stuff with.

I should also mention that the FiGZ server is located at CMERDC and the bandwidth is provided by InterTechnologies. And if it wasn't for their generosity there'd be no FiGZ.COM, so its very much appreciated.

And for those who are curious, this server has been running 12 days, 20 hours, 45 minutes, 30 seconds since last rebooted. If that number is impressive to you, you should probably check out Debian GNU/Linux. If it's not impressive, we probably screwed something up.
